a community choir in Wirksworth, Derbyshire
RYV is a community choir in Wirksworth, formed in April 2009, purely for the joy of singing! We ring the changes from a selection of genres, mostly in four part harmony, offering a warm welcome to all, when good craic and camaraderie abounds!
We love to learn new songs but we also have many a soft spot for the tried and tested old favourites we fish out for fun!!.
Our next performance - drop in for a FREE concert in the church as part of the Wirksworth Festival 2025 - just click on the image for more info... then in October we're hosting a Singing Skills Workshop with the fab Sandra Kerr.
Simply come along to Wirksworth Wellspring Meeting Space on a Thursday evening from 7pm-9 pm. Weekly subs are £5 per person. No auditions, no experience necessary, HOWEVER, it is important that you contact us before you come so we can email the songs for the week which you will need to print and bring. Look at the diary for dates of note apart from the usual sessions.
Our most recent event in 2025 was a fabulous Gig in the Garden at The splendid old Barley Mow in nearby Kirk Ireton. Such a super setting and lovely to be part of the their Open Gardens activities… with thanks to Rachel and her team at the pub, who kindly hosted us and generously served us some very welcome refreshments too! xxx
